CONCERT REVIEW: Mad Decent Block Party – South Florida Edition

Revolution Live hosted the Mad Decent Block Party stop for Florida. Riff Raff, Flume, Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus, Dillon Francis, and more gathered in Ft. Lauderdale last Saturday to throw a seriously slammed out block party. When I say slammed out, I mean slammed out. Walking through the crowd was like trying to backstroke through a pool of syrup. Being crammed didn’t seem to slow anyone down however.

After some hip hop with Riff Raff and Action Bronson to get things going, Flume took the stage to bring up the tempo and get the crowd going with his sexy and fun Australian sounds. In the world of electronic music right now the Flume sound is one of my favorites. I also really enjoy watching someone who is triggering live samples and using a drum pad as opposed to just DJing. I can’t say the same for the whole crowd though because as soon as Flume ended Flosstradamus, Zeds Dead, Dillon Francis, and DJ Snake all took the stage back to back with no set brakes in that order. It was an explosion of energy from the time Flosstradamus stepped on stage until the time that DJ Snake stepped off hours later. There was lots of turning up to say the least. If you get a chance to go out to one of the Mad Decent Block Partys it will more than likely be a wild experience.
