String Cheese Incident Announces Red Rocks 2016 w/ TAUK, Kamasi Washington, and Hot Rize
The String Cheese Incident has just announced a three-night run at Red Rocks. Scheduled for July 15, 16, and 16, the string of concerts will feature some incredible support:
TAUK continues to dominate the jam circuit and Hot Rize holds down the bluegrass Sunday, but what we’re most excited for is Kamasi Washington (one of our favorite acts of late) and his Red Rocks debut. The big band has one of the best sounds I’ve ever heard, and the double-billing of Kamasi and The String Cheese Incident is something that feels pulled directly from a fantasy I’ve had. If Kamasi sits in with Cheese, I’ll knock my other tooth out.
Red Rocks has been a bit of a tradition for the String Cheese Incident, with it playing host to many of their summer shows over the band’s tenure. We were even able to cover it in recent years (photos from those shows can be seen below). Can’t wait to see what they have up their sleeves this year, but whatever it is, it’ll surely be great. Sit-ins, bust-outs, great covers and incredible production always follow the band wherever they go, and they certainly aren’t ones to play down a three-nighter at the Red Rocks.
