We couldn’t be more stoked for each of these carefully curated lineups. It’s interesting how they’re going from garage to dubstep to future-bass-house, really taking us on a timely journey through dance music in the past 10-15 years.
This Saturday starts the fun with the legendary DJ EZ. This guy is apparently the dopest garage DJ on planet earth, and while I don’t personally have too many characters to compare him to, I’ve seen him DJ once and it was second-to-none. OG techniques meet perfect selection that moves the crowd like crazy. Peep his Boiler Room set and try not to lose your shit…
The second event is with none other than dubstep upstarts Kode9 and Mala. These dudes are ringing in 10 years for Kode9’s Hyperdub records, who has released everything from Burial to DJ Rashad. It’ll be a night of nostalgia for some and education for others as the two OGs give us a taste of what was and what’s next for dub-influenced music.
Last, but certainly not least, is the 8th Year Anniversary party itself. Bringin’ on longtime crew-member AC Slater and his Night Bass tour.
