2014 was a great year for music. I went to a ton of incredible shows and listened to a bunch of great records, both old and new. And the Dirtybirds strike again. This time, it was Justin Martin and J Phlip (whom just so happen to be my two favorite birds) taking over Verboten Friday night, bumping Dirtybird booty bass through the speakers until we couldn’t take it anymore. Verboten was decked out for the Holidays, with hundreds of red and white paper stars dangling from the ceiling. via Sub Pop’s Tumblr Nirvana’s original contract with Sub Pop. Six hundred bucks well spent—not that we had it at the time. -Sub Pop If you’re interested in grunge, the music industry or Nirvana, today is a really cool day. Sub Pop took to Tumblr to post the original contract signed by Nirvana, in which the band recieved $600 advance, a first-year $12,000 option and a second-year $24,000 option.
