In a move that can only be described as devine intervention by the guitar Gods, Carlos Santana has been announced to join Phil Lesh & Friends at Lockn’ Festival. Santana and Warren Haynes will be on the same stage together. Let that sink in for a minute. Now breathe.
Lockn’, which prides itself on unique collaborations, will also boast some other great sit-ins for its third year. Dominic Lalli will join Billy & The Kids. The Doobie Brothers will join String Cheese Incident. Leon Russell, Dave Mason, Chris Robinson, and more will join Tedeschi-Trucks Band for a special Joe Cocker tribute. John Kadlecik will join Melvin Seals & JGB. And I’m sure there are ton of other surprises in store for what has become one of the funnest festivals of the year.
Of course, Widespread Panic, Robert Plant, Umphrey’s McGee, Soulive, Slightly Stoopid, Gov’t Mule, Galactic, and many more are also slated to perform.
