Lockn’ Announces 2016 Lineup: Phish, My Morning Jacket, Ween, Lettuce, Umphrey’s +more

lockn-festival-2016

Lockn’ Festival has more or less generated the same lineup for the past few years. Widespread Panic, String Cheese Incident, whichever Grateful Dead members are playing in whatever band, etc. For 2016, the organizers have opted to go in a slightly different direction, and they’ve done quite an amazing job of doing that.

Phish, of course, for two nights is the festival’s main attraction. The band doesn’t do festivals too often anymore, and two nights of two sets will surely be sufficient reasoning for Phans to make their way to Virginia. In addition to the Vermonters, newly-reunited band Ween will make their Lockn’ debut for two nights as well. My Morning Jacket rounds out the list of headliners, and after their Beacon Theatre run last year, we couldn’t be more stoked to see the Louisville band.

The undercard is equally thrilling, with two nights of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead topping that section. Soul star Charles Bradley will bring his band to Oak Ridge Farm, along with Gary Clark Jr., Lettuce, Chris Robinson’s Brotherhood, Umphrey’s McGee, Keller Williams, Galactic, and more. The festival, which we have covered since its inaugural year, is always a blast, and this year is shaping up to maybe be the best yet!
