Mountain Jam Preview: Late Night Extravaganzas!

Mountain Jam Festival is right around the corner! While The Allman Brothers, Bob Weir and Gov’t Mule are amongst the festivals headliners, the festival is also boasting some of the most impressive late-nights in the festy circuit.

Umphrey’s will go in to the morning time on Thursday, bringing their prog-jam to the mountain for the early birds who show up for Dark Star Orchestra earlier that night.

Come Friday, we’re in full-throttle music mode! While a double-dose of bluegrass via Avett Brothers and Trampled By Turtles will get the energy flowing, we got none other than the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir headlining the show.

After we get our dose of the Dead, some freaky artists taking us in to the AM. Beats Antique will rage the main stage and Brooklyn’s Antibalas will take us around the globe with their afrobeat-world-fusion.

Saturday night is all about Warren as Gov’t Mule takes the reins for a full show. After that is none other than Pretty Lights on the main stage. Known best for his late nights at Bonnaroo, who knows if this guy will go until the sun comes up? I’m sure the crowd will have no objections if he decides to do just that.

If you’re not about the beats and more in to soul, Jackie Greene has you covered. I saw that guy with Phil & Friends last month and let me tell ya: that’s a damn-good choice as well.

Shout outs to the good folks over at Mountain Jam for putting together a hell of a festival, even in to the morning time.
