Kraak & Smaak’s Chrome Waves album is a splendid nod to everything right with electronic dance music today: experimental, catchy, unique, chill enough to listen to while reading, dancey enough to make ya move. While the term EDM has finally set in with the mainstream and trendsetters alike, and artists like Disclosure, Soul Clap, DARKSIDE and Richie Hawtin are no longer underground, it isn’t all so bad.
Enter: Kraak & Smaak, production trio out of the Netherlands. The group defies genres (doesn’t everybody these days?) but if you called it disco, deep house, indie dance or indie pop I wouldn’t get snobby on you…
Anyways, enough of me blabbering, let’s get down to the tunes. NSFW’s remix of “Love Inflation” gives the tune a more upbeat, dancey vibe from the original on the album. They’re both awesome and unique in their own way, which is what I like about the art of the remix. Make it different; don’t make it suck.
