Miami felt a little like New York on Saturday night. Brooklyn natives No Regular Play performed at one of the better underground clubs in Miami, The Electric Pickle. These guys deliver a soulful sound that is unmatched by your average DJ duo, because they are actually playing instruments too. Playing a trumpet and singing during the set creates a vibe that DJing can’t recreate. That being said, the duo is also great at DJing. They hit the stage at around 2 am for the live show portion of the night. After about an hour of the live performance they announced, “were just gonna DJ for a while now”. They continued to play powerful deep house and funky house tracks, some of which I recognized from The Magician’s Magic Tape mixes. The soulful Brooklyn vibes paired with a respected underground venue in Miami made for an excellent way to close out Saturday night. Keep your eyes peeled for No Regular Play or any of the other Crew Love artists in a city near you. We highly recommend going to see them.
