A new Suwannee festival is here: Suwannee Rising! While Wanee & Spring Fest are no longer on the grounds, it’s nice to see a brand new festival carry on the tradition of funk / jam bands blessing the sacred Suwannee music grounds.
Lettuce, moe., and Oteil & Friends will headline the inaugural event, with Dumpstaphunk, The New Mastersounds, Ghost-Note, and Melody Trucks Band taking the undercard. The event poster indicates that a few of these bands will play multiple sets, and there are more bands to be added.
It already appears that this will be a good enough time with the bands that are currently in place, however. The Suwannee is indisputably the best place to see live music or go to a festival (at least in our humble opinion). Lettuce has been the fire-starter of many legendary sets there, and we expect nothing less than epic from those guys, along with moe., and the other acts.
