The Peach Music Festival has announced their 2016 lineup to include some really great collaborations in the jam circuit. The String Cheese Incident will play a Gregg Allman Incident with the man himself, which is the highest profile jam of the event. Will they play Dicky Betts’ “Jessica,” a song that Cheese has covered many times over the years? Time will tell.
In addition to The Gregg Allman Incident, The Clapool Lennon Delirium will unite Les Claypool and Sean Lennon for the only other non-Bonnaroo date on their books. Les Brers brings Butch Trucks, Jamoe, Marc Quiñones, and Oteil Burbridge from the Allman Brothers fame together, presumably for a jam of ABB tunes. Electron is a jamtronica supergroup. For Deadheads, the Golden Gate Wingmen bring some post-Dead offshoot members together, and of course Joe Russo’s Almost Dead remains a fiery force in that world. Add established jam titans like Umphrey’s McGee, moe., and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, mix in up-and-comers like The Werks, Dopapod, and Turkuaz, and top it all off with some ginger frosting a la Trey Anastasio Band, and you have yourself a pretty strong festival lineup!
