Reading and Leeds are two of the world’s oldest popular music festivals still in existence. Held in England the events take place simultaneously with the same lineup. This year expanding into new genres in attempts to add more diversity. Which pretty much means they’ve added electronic music. Upsetting more then just some, Turns out not everyone was thrilled that Skrillex was announced.
Understandable when you look at who use to headline Reading. Including The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Pink Floyd to name a few. This years Reading is like my teenage dream lineup with acts like Eminem, Green Day, System of a Down, Nine Inch Nails, and more. But how will the festival react? Bottling acts offstage (being forced off stage by a barrage of audience-thrown bottles and cans) is a long-standing tradition at the festival. In 2004, it was the turn of rapper 50 Cent, who was pelted with bottles. 50 Cent lasted nearly 20 minutes before finally throwing his microphone into the crowd in anger.
Held annually August 23/24/25 the same dates as Creamfields ( The largest dance music festival in the UK ). Fortunately for me, I’m extremely excited to attend Reading this year. And if anyone gets bottled off stage, you can count on me to capture it!
Lineup Includes Green Day, Eminem, System of a Down, Chase and Status ( Live ), Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Fall Out Boy, The Lumineers, Phoenix, Skrillex, Alt-J, A$AP Rocky, Major Lazer, Sub Focus ( Live ), Magnetic Man, Knife Party, Baauer, Modestep, and more to still be announced.
