Yonder @ The Bouler Theater 12/27/13
This week Yonder Mountain String Band hits their Florida run on their 2014 Winter Tour. Unlike any other tour of Yonder’s past, singer/mandolin player Jeff Austin will not be in attendance, as he is taking a 17 show break to be with his family for the birth of his baby girl Penelope (who was born on January 25th).
Joining in on the tour to help make up for the loss of Austin is The Travelin’ McCourys, who just recently won a Grammy for their work with poppa Del McCoury on their album The Streets of Baltimore. The band is comprised of mandolin player Ronnie McCoury, Rob McCoury on banjo, fiddler Jason Carter and bassist Alan Bartram. So far, this tour has also featured special guests like Del McCoury himself along with Andy Falco of the Infamous Stringdusters and percussionist FUTUREMAN. There is no question Yonder is ready to bring some toe-tappin’ bluegrass to the sunshine state this week.
Be sure to catch them as they will be playing at Vinyl Music Hall on Jan 29th in Pensacola, Freebird LIVE in Jacksonville on Jan 30th, Jannus Live on Jan 31st in St. Petersburg, and finally at Revolution on Feb 1st in Ft. Lauderdale.
