Sunshine Music Festival launches on both coasts of South Florida January 14th and 15th, 2017. The bands first descend on waterfront Vinoy Park in St. Pete on Saturday, and then head to the beautiful Mizner Park Ampitheater in Boca Raton to close out the show on Sunday. The inaugural festival boasts a lineup full of generation-spanning world-class musicians from JRAD to Mavis Staples. Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by the married duo of love and rock Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks (The Allman Brothers), headline both days. The band is known for sitting in with the likes of Widespread Panic, Lettuce, and Bob Weir. We can expect the bands at Sunshine to invite their friends on stage for a few powerful covers and memorable improvisations. The festival circuit has reached an apex point in which it neither begins nor ends. Instead, Sunshine Music Festival, House of Creatives, FM Festival, and more are providing Floridians pulsating performances at a time of year the was once considered the off season. The combination of heady tunes, craft coldies, and local eats all under enjoyable weather in January creates a burden of envy that cold-weather folks bare with a shiver. We Floridians prefer the sounds of Bluegrass, R&B, and Jam shaking us to our core during the winter months. Head over to the website for more information SunshineMF. We’ll see you in a few weeks!
