HULAWEEN PREVIEW: Interview with Florida Local Band Post Pluto

Post Pluto is a local Florida band that will be playing Suwannee Hulaween at 1:30pm Friday afternoon at the campground stage. The perfect time to wake up and come drink some mimosas to curve your hangover. This jam band draws influences from Jazz, Acid, and Funk genres a lot and aren’t afraid to try some super covers. I’ve personally heard them cover The Doors as well as some classic funk hits.

Post Pluto is based out of Pensacola and recently opened up for Dumpstaphunk and Earphunk. I’ve been friends with the bass player Tommy since 6th grade and it’s awesome so see a good friend follow his dreams and progress. Check out their first ep “Good Water” along with some other live recordings on their soundcloud below and don’t miss them on Saturday at the Campground Stage. HULAWEEN STARTS TOMORROW!!! I got to ask Post Pluto a few questions before the festival starts tomorrow. Check them out below.

1. How long have you been a band? We have been together since about April 2013.

2. What genre/s would you classify Post Pluto’s music in? It’s hard for us to confine our sound to a certain genre so we like to say jamrock psychedelic funk fusion with some indie/folk influence.

3. Three Bands you are excited to see at Hulaween? Definitely pumped for some Cheese! Thievery Corp is going to be awesome too and we are all wanting some more Kung Fu in our lives.

4. Anything special planned for your Hulaween set? We have a couple of surprises for our set including an awesome spacey funky mashup that’s definitely going to get weird.

5. Any new music or other shows coming up for Post Pluto? We are constantly writing new material and we have several Pensacola shows as well as Florida based festivals coming up the next few months including Forever Summer Fest, Gov-Fest, Orange Blossom Jamboree, and Slide into Spring!
