This year’s Electric Forest has one of the most diverse lineups in the festival’s history. There is, of course, The String Cheese Incident playing 3 nights, but there’s also a wide array of artists performing in Michigan for the incredible event. Funk titans Lettuce, bluegrass vets Yonder Mountain String Band, tech-house legend Carl Cox, critically acclaimed beat-maker Four Tet, and the master of bass himself: Bassnectar, are just a few of the acts we’re amped up on.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Flume, Skrillex, Claude VonStroke, Dâm-Funk, Exmag, and Odesza provide distinctly different types of electronic music, and that’s just a small sampling.
Dopapod, Lotus, The Motet, American Babies, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Galactic, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, and Electron do the same for the jam band side of things.
The marriage of these two worlds, jam and electronic, collide at Electric Forest better than at any other festival we’ve ever seen. I might say that you haven’t really lived until you’ve spent a night raving in the woods after a day well spent partying to SCI and checking out all sorts of incredible art installations.
In anticipation of Electric Forest, we’ve decided to compile 100 songs from a selection of the artists that will perform at this year’s festival. It’s a diverse list, and there’s guaranteed to be some stuff you love and some stuff you’re maybe not so fond of, but it’s a nice tool to use to discover a new artist and hype yourself up for four days in paradise.
