The Suwannee Hulaween theme is here: ‘Stringier Things.’ Playing on the recent success of Netflix’s Stranger Things, the festival urges patrons to “celebrate vintage 1980s supernatural horror / pop culture.” Don’t tempt me with a good time…
This also means that The String Cheese Incident will likely have an 80s-themed covers set this year, which should be fun to watch. The band is known to cover Talking Heads, Prince, and other 80s icons, so we can’t wait to see what they come up with in the Suwannee!
The theme announcement comes with a few lineup additions as well. Brooklyn’s very own afrobeat orchestra Antibalas will join the party, along with Oh Wonder and the second installment of Russo, Benevento, & Burbridge, an instrumental improv trio that made their debut at Peachfest last month.
Tickets are still available for the greatest party of the year, and we’d really recommend you not sleep on them. If you don’t want to take our word for it, just watch String Cheese Incident crush their Friday set 1 of Hulaween last year, and imagine not doing that on Halloween weekend. Sucks, don’t it? See you there…
