Wanee Festival takes place in the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park, usually right around (or on) 4/20. This year, The Allman Brothers Band, along with a supporting cast including Widespread Panic, Government Mule and more, will take over the Florida woods on the greenest holiday of the year.
Panic and the Allman Bros. will both play sets on Friday and Saturday evening. While that already accounts for a good 8+ hours of quality guitar work, the lineup certainly doesn’t stop there. Funktastic sets from Galactic (& friends) and Dirty Dozen Brass Band will give everyone their horn fix. Boombox, Les Claypool’s Duo De Twang, Michael Franti & Spearhead and Bobby Lee Rodgers trio prove that there is a little bit for everyone at this festival; from bluegrass to acid house to hip-hop, genres will be bent and broken in the Spirit of Suwannee.
In a year where each festival crawls closer to an all-DJ lineup, Wanee stays true to their roots–good southern rock and a variety of killer bands. With a diverse lineup filled with jammin’ bands from different genres from all over the country, it is no doubt that Wanee will be one of the most talented festivals around.
