Words by Jeremy Nicholson Papadosio at AURA Music & Arts Festival Last night Papadosio kicked off their Imaginal Cells Fall tour in Tallahassee at the Sidebar Theater alongside Asian Teacher Factory and Fungle Junk. Fungle Junk, Tally locals, started off the night and were a great addition to the concert with their smooth funky jazz jams that make you feel like you’re in New Orleans. The vibe would change for the rest of the night with Asian Teacher Factory taking the stage.
With Camp Bisco taking a hiatus, the Disco Biscuits have to get their fans some hyper-active dance-rock somehow, and it looks like AURA Music & Arts Festival will fill some of that void early next year with their 6th annual festival. Bringin’ it back to the Suwannee, but in March this year as opposed to February, AURA Music Festival will also host mainstays Papadosio, grammy-winners Snarky Puppy, Kung Fu, Dopapod, RAQ and more. It has been an absolute privilage to watch this

Words by Jesse Filippelli Photos by Yasmina Bobeena Nestled under the Spanish moss of Tallahassee there is a sound emerging through the Florida States Seminole war chant, and it’s coming from a group who call themselves “Shoes and Laces.” Since November 2010 the band has been on a musical journey giving fans a taste of jazz, funk, psychedelic rock, and even a little bluegrass. On September 7th the band released their first full-length album, “Melodious Junk” at Tallahassee’s
With Magnolia Fest, Hulaween and Bear Creek all coming up in the next month and a half, Rex-A-Vision‘s Oral History of the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park couldn’t have come at a better time. Florida folks know the park as a mecca for music. The festivals, people, mossy oaks and music collide to make Spirit of Suwannee Music Park one of the greatest venues on the face of the planet. The natural beauty is right up there with a place like, say, Red Rocks, but the camping comp
There isn’t much more information than that. Disco Donnie, AEG and Committee have teamed up (along with HTG Events) to bring the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park its first EDM festival. Just weeks before Magnolia Fest, Hulaween and then Bear Creek, Wick Oak will take place in the Suwannee, with what I’m assuming to be many world-class DJs playing late in to the night. Go ahead and check them out on Facebook to stay up-to-date with the details as they are announced. #krewella #ed
Word on the streets is there will be many more dates to come, and starting tomorrow they will be announcing more dates. Be sure to catch Papadosio when they come to a city near you! The band has been absolutely killing it lately and with EarthCry setting the tone, these will surely be shows to not soon forget. We have a video interview with Papadosio coming VERY soon as well, so be on the look out for that! PEACE! #conspirator #athens #atlanta #stringcheeseincident #music #ta
With the Spirit of Suwannee Disc Jams #6 on the horizon, we’re gearing up to once again set our feet in the magical Music Park that plays home to so many festivals, big and small. While Wanee, Bear Creek, AURA, Purple Hatters Ball and now Hulaween have been receiving a lot of our attention, we’re happy to shine the spotlight on a much smaller, much different festival in this beloved venue. Below there is a track from Dangermuffin along with a Q&A with their singer, Dan Lotti.
We all know about the vibes and tunes that make Wanee a fantastic festival, but did you know that this magical land is inhabited by some of the cutest little critters you’ve ever seen? The dog-friendly festival had tons of heady chicks flocking to this adorable pups all weekend long and for your “awwwwwwww!” moment of the day, we bring you some cool K-9s and some unusual creatures as well! This little bugger uses his tongue to lure in the ladies. When they get close they see
