SnowBall Preview: 5 Must-See Sets

SnowBall kicks off tomorrow in Winter Park, CO and we could not be more excited! The mountain vibes and cool weather have everyone antsy to get moving, and at 2:30 PM tomorrow the Festival will kick off. With a weekend full of so much great music ahead, it’s hard to narrow down who you’re most excited for. Nonetheless, we decided to post a little something about our 5 most anticipated sets.

Pretty Lights

This shouldn’t surprise you. The Colorado native is sure to bring the heat this year for his return to SnowBall. His first performance at the Ball was alongside my personal favorite drummer, Adam Deitch (of Lettuce, Break Science). A bigger stage production and new tracks make PL’s arsenal of electro-hip-hop-soul beats a must-witness.

STS9

Soundtribe closing out a 3-day festival in the snow. Their recent set lists have had fans more interested than they have been in years. Although it’s only an hour and a half , I’m sure they will bring their A-game the whole time.

Shlohmo

This kid has been doing that instrumental down-tempo hip-hop thing that is starting to blow up. You know Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawk, xxyyxx, and the like. It’s going to be different and definitely not the most neon RAGE hate thing to do, but it’s probably going to be awesome. Flosstradamus

J2K and Autobot have created some of the hottest trap beats under Flosstradamus. All of their massive remixes and mash-ups will certainly warm up the subzero Colorado crowd.

Michal Menert

Despite the early Sunday set at 2:30 PM in the Groove Tent, Colorado’s Michal Menert will draw a thick crowd. Don’t miss his bass-driven, soulful beats to get your third day started off right.

Honorable Mentions: Flying Lotus, Grizmatik, Datsik, Big Gigantic.

And Don’t forget to PACK WARM and put your dancing boots on… (must be waterproof)

We will see you in the mountains!
