It’s raining lineups! That time of year has arrived where the lineups start rolling out one after another. It’s a little overwhelming honestly and hard to keep track of them since a lot of the same artists are on each lineup. Apart from Shakey Knees and Ultra, you will get relatively the same music at every festival. You really just have to decide what atmosphere you want. Do you want to be in a big city? Do you want to be on a beach? Do you want to be camping in the desert?
Hangout Festival has something special about it. Located right outside of Florida on the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama, our team has attended the past 5 years and seen some kick ass cover songs at the festival. I don’t know if something about the beach makes you want to play cover tunes, but it’s a tradition we now look forward too and one that impresses us every time. The beach tends to bring out the best in bands and it keeps us coming back to Hangout year after
First of all we hate that they put Umphrey’s and Foo Fighters at the same time. Nothing we can do though. The second thing were not very thrilled about is a lot of the acts were excited to see are playing super early. Xavier Rudd, Toro y Moi, Goldroom, Beats Antique, and St. Lucia all perform and finish before 3pm during the weekend. That just means we will have to get up early and get out on the beach pronto! Foo Fighters kicking off the first night is pretty awesome. Missin
1. BEACH LIFE
It’s on the beach! The stages are literally in the sand, not to mention some of the best sand in the entire country. You are standing feet away from the ocean while your favorite artist is performing right in front of you. There is something much more relaxing about sitting in sand compared to ripped up grass and dirt. The barefoot thing is a little sketchy at most festivals but highly recommended for Hangout. Waking up next to the beach for 3 days with nothing
Hangout Music Festival is coming up and we are getting excited about it! Listen to all the songs we hope get played on the beaches of Gulf Shores next month. We compiled over 50 songs from the 2015 Hangout lineup that will get you in the mood for hangin on the beach! Check out the playlist below. For more info check the Hangout website.

(photo: Hangout Facebook) Journal by Jeremy Nicholson Saturday May 17, 2014 It was around 4:15 at the Hangout Music Festival when my girl and I naturally decided to get a couple of frozen daiquiris in order to escape the Gulf Shores heat. The sun was blazing and it seemed appropriate because we were about to indulge on some Moon Taxi via People of the Sun, their Rage Against the Machine tibute moniker. To say the least, I was as giddy as a schoolgirl. Now, Moon Taxi has playe
1. CATCH A CHEVY Walking back to your condo or hotel at Hangout can be slightly stressful with all the non stop good music. This year there will be Chevy cars cruising around offering rides to festival goers. —“Snag a complimentary ride to your next destination in a Catch A Chevy Equinox or Cruze Eco. If you see one that is empty, flag it down! Catch A Chevy vehicles are on the road every day during Hangout from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.” 2. CHEVROLET BEACH Ever since I first went
Lineups are dropping like flies right now! Hangout just unveiled their 2014 lineup, as shown above. With a strong variety, this lineup is gemmed by The Killers, Outkast, Jack Johnson, Black Keys, Modest Mouse, Pretty Lights, STS9, The Avett Brothers and more. Claude Von Stroke and Brodinski down the stretch are nice to see as well. You can buy tickets for the Hangout starting tomorrow by clicking here…. #2014 #prettylights #hangout #modestmouse #thekillers #music #claudevonst
You gotta love Warren Haynes in HD, shredding on the beach none the less! Check out this (damn-near) full Govt Mule set from the Hangout Festival and enjoy it. We sure did… #hangout #music #allmanbrosband #hangoutfestival #wanee #warrenhaynes #govtmule #jam #mule #widespreadpanic #beach
We were back at Hangout in the sunny and sandy Gulf Shores, Alabama for the 3rd year in a row. The festival was fantastic as always. A portion of the Hangout Festival crowd came together yesterday as Umphrey’s Mcgee, Railroad Earth, Lotus, Conspirator, Dillon Francis, Wick-It The Instigator, Benny Benassi and more rocked the early birds here in Alabama. Lotus played a really energetic set in the same tent that later housed Dillon Francis and Benny Benassi. Highlights included “The Surf” and a recently-rare “Spiritualize.” The dudes were jamming really well together too. Lots of tempo changes and great solo
Hangout dropped the schedule on us today and oh man does it get me excited! Kings of Leon closing out night 1, Tom Petty closing out night 2, and Stevie closing out night 3. My main focus of excitement is Bassnectar playing on the beach (in the same time slot that String Cheese played last year; which was amazing). Bass in my face, and sand in my toes. Can’t Wait! The only disappointing thing personally is the overlap of Bloc Party and Trey. You can’t please everyone though.
As if the lineup wasn’t big enough, the folks at Hangout have added the above names. The Gulf Shores Festival continues to entice fans to get their tickets as soon as possible. The event sold out last year and I’m sure it will again this year, so if you haven’t already purchased your pass, be sure to do so HERE. #edm #biggigantic #hangout #harlemshake #trap #steviewonder #baauer #hangoutmusicfestival #afrojack
NECTARS BACK ON THE BEACH!! And that’s not all…. not even close! The fourth annual Hangout Music Festival lineup is here! Round 1 is jam packed with some seriously amazing artists. Considering I grew up watching skate videos with Tom Petty soundtracks, I couldn’t be more excited to finally catch that man live. As expected, the lineup is diverse and pulls from all genres, painting the portrait of a modern-day music lover. From electronic to hip hop to funk to reggae, it’s all
We’re only a few days out of the 2nd Hangout Music Festival on the Gulf Shores of Alabama. Thousands of people from all over the world will gather in an otherwise unknown little beach town that lies on the Gulf of Mexico for 3 (4 with the pre-party!) days of eclectic music along with some partying and relaxing. Hangout’s line up can bring the rage (Paper Diamond, Skrillex, STS9) or allow you to lay in the sand and chill (Dave Matthews Band, Jack White, Rebelution, Red Hot Chi
